CHANGES RELATING TO COVID19
All my Barre classes for the time being will be streamed live over Zoom. It is advisable to login 5-10 minutes prior to class to check there are no tech issues. Classes will run in the same format, to music and for all fitness levels. On booking you will be sent the link and the password. It would be lovely to see you there. Thank you so much for supporting me at this tricky time.

Barre: What is it?
These classes are open to all women and there is an emphasis on pelvic floor, integrated breathing and core work, so my classes are ideal for mums or women peri to postmenopausal. The workout is low impact and can be adapted for all fitness levels.
BarreConcept is set to music and it combines ballet, pilates and sports conditioning exercises alongside relaxing stretches. Equipment such as balls and bands are used to challenge the body further.
I plan the classes to give you a whole body workout, in the hope you will leave feeling better than when you came in. We work on ballet technique, posture and strengthening from the core.
The fitness classes are friendly, fun and there are options for all levels of fitness.
The class gets busy and is often full, so booking is essential, as there’s limited space at the barre. Classes need to be paid for in advance, but if you then cannot make the class and give more than 24 hours notice, your class can be used for another time.
Once you have attended a class you can become part of the Facebook group Barre Class Eddington and Girton, where short videos are posted for you to continue your practise at home.
I often do give aways in the class, most recently with Barre/pilates socks, Sweaty Betty purses and online memberships.
I also try and bring in some healthier snacks every now and again to refuel all the ladies taking part in the class.

Classes run at the Storey’s Field Centre in Eddington and The William Collyn Centre in Girton.
Storey’s Field Centre: This class is very popular and taught in a beautiful studio. It is possible to park close to the centre on street, but you must get a ticket.
The William Collyn Centre: The hall is a lovely big, light space and the centre has plenty of FREE parking and showers. We use chairs for the barre. Book your spot below.

What you need:
Towel, water and a mat if you have one. You don’t need any previous experience of ballet or dance training. Price includes receiving a recorded video of the class.

Eddington trim trail and field
Barrefit al fresco will be running for September only and is a class using elements of Barre in a circuit context. A wonderful chance to workout with likeminded women in the fresh air. Great for the body and soul!
What you need:
A long resistance band and your own mat/towel. Suitable for all fitness levels. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.

Subscribe to monthly access of our Barre Workouts and you will receive access to 12 x 30 minutes and 18 x 20 minute workouts to do at home whenever suits you. You will also receive NEW Workouts regularly, including some of the live classes that have been taught throughout lockdown. These workouts are designed for those of you who struggle to get to classes or have limited time but still want to get moving.
What do I need?
All you need is access to the internet and you can use the videos as much or as little as you like. You will be sent your log in information for the website and then you are good to go. The videos can be done at home, in the garden, wherever it works for you.
Some of the videos will use equipment, which will make the workout harder. A small loop band, a resistance band, small weights ( filled water bottles will do!) and a pilates ball. All of these can be bought cheaply on Amazon, Decathlon, The physical Company or Physio Room online. The exercises can be performed without them, but for the best results in terms of building strength the equipment helps.
Disclaimer: These exercises are suitable for most, as options are given, however If you have been of ill health please get your Doctor’s permission before starting these videos. The workouts are not aimed towards pregnant or recently post natal women. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Over the years I have tried many, many, many different kinds of exercise including a wide variety of classes. The truth is… I don’t enjoy exercise, I endure it because I know it is an important part of a healthy lifestyle (and I would like to be thinner!) I have done 6 barre classes with Nikki now and I can honestly say that I love it. I genuinely look forward to the classes and I am keen to practice at home using Nikki’s online videos. The classes are fun, and I feel like I am getting a good workout, which is low impact, which I personally prefer. The music keeps me motivated and adds to the enjoyment of the class! I can’t recommend it highly enough….
At just my second barre class, I dove in and got a class pass and have added it to my weekly diary. Nikki is a lovely teacher, clear in her instructions and demonstration, great at giving multiple options to make an exercise harder if you feel like pushing yourself (or less difficult if not), changing up the routine, and best of all, she has so much enthusiasm for fitness that it’s contagious. I really like that I leave class feeling like I’ve had a workout (I have had sore muscles in the days that follow; I don’t recommend stairs), but also that I was transported somewhere and kind of relaxed too. The room and garden are stunning. Thanks Nikki!
I was nervous before attending my first barre class with Nikki (my first barre class ever!), but her gentle and encouraging teaching style made me feel at ease and I realised that I am stronger than I knew! The class was just the right blend of challenging and accessible and I couldn’t wait to go back the next week. Fantastic class with a brilliant instructor!!!
